Trooper is Great Lakes Bootblack 2008

Our own Trooper (the bootblack you've also come to know on staff here at the Eagle as "Rich") competed in the Great Lakes Leather Alliance weekend of contests in Indianapolis, in the bootblack category August 22-24.

He competed against 2 very good contestants, including our other bootblack staffer, boy matt, and Tami. We are proud that Trooper brings home the prize as he is the new Great Lakes Bootblack 2008! He represents ICON well, our bar, and now our city, state and region.

At at time when leather bars around the country are removing their bootblack chairs, we are lucky to have a busy one -- with not 1, but 2 quality bootblacks. Remember to have your boots and leathers cared for by our guys! And good luck at IML XXXI, Trooper!

Bad Webmaster

Your Webmaster regrets that his battery in his camera was dead last Friday.  As a result, there are no pictures of our good friends from ICON Detroit as they welcomed locals to the Eagle during their IML Send-Off.  There are no pictures of the winners of the raffle that took place that night.  Worst of all, there are no pictures of Mr. Detroit Eagle tied up with clothes pins clipped all over his half naked body.

Sorry guys.

But pictures are only half the fun.  You will need to come hang out and see for yourself next time the ICONs host an event.

We'll keep you posted.

Check back soon!

ICONs Celebrate 15 Years

Congratulations to the Detroit ICONs on their 15 year anniversary.  If you missed their post Valentines' Black and Red Bash last night at the Eagle you also missed a great night out.  As always, the ICONs proved they know how to throw a party.

As part of last night's event the ICONs present our own Mr. Detroit Eagle, James, with his club colors. ICON Detroit presented BullmanX, John C. and DJ John with Honorary memberships. Special recognition was also given to founding Members Buck and Alleycat (pictured to the left) for their 15 years of leadership.

Congratulations guys! We look forward to the years that follow.
